چکیده

geons, neurologists, neuroradiologists, and other practitioners. The purpose of this publication is to provide these physicians with current management strategies for dealing with a variety of disorders and conditions in the neurosciences, and to provide up-to-date diagnostic and prognostic information written by specialists in the field. It is estimated that it will take the physician 1 hour to complete the activity. The questions at the end of each lesson are designed to test and evaluate the participants’ comprehension of the topic. This CME program is sponsored by the Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation and funded by grants and donations. This CME activity was planned and produced in accordance with the Illinois State Medical Society’s Essential Areas for Continuing Medical Education. The Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation is accredited by the Illinois State Medical Society to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation designates this activity for a maximum of 1 hour of category 1 credit towards the American Medical Association’s Physician Recognition Award. It is the intent of the Central Illinois Neuroscience Foundation to assure that its educational mission, and Continuing Medical Education activities in particular, are not influenced by the special interests of individuals associated with its program.

Cyberknife Radiosurgery – A New Treatment Method for Image-guided, Robotic, High-precision Radiosurgery

Cyberknife Radiosurgery – Overview Cyberknife technology is based on radiosurgical principles that have been in clinical practice for 30 years. Radiosurgery is the precise application of a high (tumour-destructing) dose of radiation in a precisely defined target volume, while protecting the surrounding healthy tissue. During radiosurgery, many radiation beams from different directions intersect...

SU-E-T-453: A Novel Daily QA System for Robotic Image Guided Radiosurgery with Variable Aperture Collimator.

PURPOSE A novel end-to-end system using a CCD camera and a scintillator based phantom that is capable of measuring the beam-by-beam delivery accuracy of Robotic Radiosurgery has been developed and reported in our previous work. This work investigates its application to end-to-end type daily QA for Robotic Radiosurgery (Cyberknife) with Variable Aperture Collimator (Iris). METHODS The phantom ...

CyberKnife in the treatment of prostate cancer: a revolutionary system.

The CyberKnife is a frameless advanced robotic system that uses image-guided radiotherapy (IGRT) and adaptive radiotherapy (ART) for stereotactic radiosurgery technique in intraand extracranial lesions. The CyberKnife has also revolutionised the use of radiosurgery to treat tumours in different parts of the body. This system represents, after three-dimensional conformal radiotherapy (3DCRT), a ...

Advances in fiducial‐free image‐guidance for spinal radiosurgery with CyberKnife – a phantom study

The image-guided CyberKnife radiosurgery system is apable of tracking spinal targets without fiducial implants. Recently, a new version of this fiducial-free image guidance modality ("enhanced Xsight spine tracking") has been introduced. We assessed the accuracy of this novel technique versus its precursor in a comparative phantom study. The CyberKnife consists of a 6 MV linac on a six-axis rob...

CyberKnife Radiosurgery of a Renal Pelvis Tumor to Avoid Renal Dialysis: A Case Report

Transitional cell cancer (TCC) in the renal pelvis is usually treated by nephro-ureterectomy. In functional or anatomical singular renal units, consecutive chronic hemodialysis will be needed. We present a patient treated by image-guided robotic radiosurgery for definitive tumor control of a T2G3 recurrent transitional cell cancer of the renal pelvis in a singular renal unit after nephro-ureter...

CyberKnife Ablation of a Solitary Para-Aortic Lymph Node Metastasis After Robotic-Assisted Radical Prostatectomy

Introduction: Radical prostatectomy is an effective curative treatment option for organ-confined prostate cancer. There is a recent trend in offering curative treatment to patients with oligometastatic disease. More sensitive imaging modalities can identify oligometastatic disease that is not usually detected by conventional imaging techniques. Case presentation: We present a case in which a s...
